A Picture of Papa

Aunt Lorna sent an e-mail today today with a picture of Uncle Ken, Uncle Lloyd and Papa and the following sweet note:
This picture taken at Uncle Lloyd's 70th birthday party, December 8, 2007, of the Big Three. Your dad made the comment while I was taking this that "perhaps there was more 'smarts' among the big 3 than there was in all the rest of the room'. Everyone laughed so hard but perhaps did agree. There certainly was the most experience in their small group.

It was so nice of Lorna to take the time to share a memory of happier times with Jim. Papa continues to be in our bedtime prayers each night, and we also pray that Liz continues to have the strength to care for him with grace and dignity. We are so glad that she has finally allowed the hospice program to provide some much needed help with their challenging days.

Shabbat Nosh

We celebrated Shabbat Nosh will Alex's preschool class on Friday night. Alex was surprisingly nervous about the program. We stayed in the car for a few minutes and watched a movie to get our mind off of it.
He started off the singing portion front and center, and did great!Elena enjoyed the refreshment portion of the evening the best. She had 8 or 9 orange slices before we realized how much she was eating!
After a job well done, Alex posed with his classmate Rachel Fang. We are very proud of him!

Signs of Spring

Elena's preschool class spent time today on the grounds searching for signs of spring. There were lots of things to see and do!Elena found her shadow.
The kids found new leaves, and wanted to know if they smelled good. The entire class lined up on a bench for a photo. Elena gave the camera her best cheesy grin.
Elena climbed the ladder up, up, up....
...and then went down the big slide!
The kids took one last run around the soccer field before heading back inside for a snack. We love this weather!

Elena is a Teddy Bear Girl

Instead of preschool, Elena attends a "Teddy Bear" class each Tuesday. We have not been for a few weeks due to all the scheduling craziness involved in my new job. When we arrived today, I was surprised to see these class photos from months ago. I forgot they were even taken! Elena was VERY excited to see pictures of herself and classmates, and pointed out "That Lena. I so happy at Teddy Bear school" to anyone who would listen. It makes me very happy that Elena is developing a love for school, her teachers and classmates at this special time in her life. But she is growing up so fast!

Alex is looking on in the background in the orange shirt by his teacher, Mrs Goldberg. Happy smiles from the girls.Wheee!!! Playing in the lobby is a special treat.
